Schengen Visa Information
The requirements for a Schengen Visa are now very
detailed and applicants must prove that they have
a valid reason for their visit to Denmark. The Royal
Danish Consulates in Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh
and Glasgow are able to receive and process visa
applications for Denmark with a view to submitting
them to final processing and issue at the Royal
Danish Embassy in London.
Supporting documents required by the Embassy in
order to issue a visa include the following:
· Completed application form.
· 1 No passport sized photograph taken in
semi-profile. No headgear must be worn.
· Current passport valid 3 months after last
exit from Schengen. If you have a visa for staying
in the UK it also needs to be valid for 3 months
after leaviing Schengen. Please make sure that your
passport/travel document has a blank page to affix
the visa.
· Proof of sufficient funds such as bank
statements, travellers cheque or credit card with
statement of credit limit to cover the costs of
the intended stay
· Health/ Travel insurance that covers the
period of intended stay
· Travel documentation:
Tourism:
Evidence of accommodation i.e. hotel reservation
confirmation must be provided.
Family & friends:
If staying with relatives or friends a letter of
invitation is required confirming stay and accommodation.
Please note that e-mails cannot be used for invitations
.
Business:
Letter of invitation and evidence of accommodation
such as confirmed hotel booking and proof of current
occupation in the UK.
Student:
If studying in the UK an original student letter
from school/University confirming attendance and
indicating course should be provided.
Please
note that the Danish Consulate/ Embassy reserve
the right to request additional information to that
listed above in support of each application
NOTES
· Original documentation must be presented
with the visa application.
· A contact telephone number for the applicant
is requested in event of any queries.
· A visa application may take several weeks
to be processed and sufficient time is therefore
required before travelling.
· A stamped, self addressed special delivery
envelope is requested for the return of the passport.
For an additional £4.25 charge, the consulate
will provide the special delivery envelope.
. Visa applications are sent to the Embassy by first
class postage. Should you wish for your application
to be sent by special delivery, for an additional
charge (£4.25), the consulate will provide
the stamped special delivery envelope.
· When applying at a consulate, an additional
fee of £11.00 will be charged alongside the
cost of the Visa.
· Visas are free of charge to spouses of
EU or EEA Nationals on production of a valid marriage
certificate (in English or Danish) and spouse's
original passport.
. Children, who are named in one of the parents’
passports need to complete a separate Visa application
form when travelling to a Schengen country
